Fairport for the Future 2025 at Brooks Hill and Jefferson Avenue

The unique character and needs of the Brooks Hill and Jefferson Avenue school facilities have defined the scope of the project at these two schools. The Fairport for the Future 2025 project proposals for Brooks Hill and Jefferson Avenue include cafeteria renovations, classroom and toilet room modernization, as well as upgrades to air conditioning and flooring, while maintaining the 0% additional tax increase to our community.

Scope of proposed work at Brooks Hill School:

  • Partial classroom renovations in select classrooms, including walls and classroom bathrooms
  • SPARK Lab finishes
  • Cafeteria finishes and air condition
  • Corridor ceilings, flooring and lighting

 

Health and safety and Building Condition Survey projects:

  • Fire alarm system upgrades
  • Upgrades and replacement of original HVAC equipment
  • Electrical panel replacement
  • Building controls upgrades
  • Public address (PA) and clock system upgrades
  • Ventilation and air management updates

Partial classroom renovations at Brooks Hill Elementary School

The proposed Fairport for the Future 2025 Capital Improvement Project features partial renovations in the majority of the classrooms in Brooks Hill. These renovations include new lighting and finishes, along with an overhaul of the attached classroom bathrooms. These bathrooms will feature new plumbing, fixtures and finishes. The cafeteria at Brooks Hill serves as much more than a place to enjoy an amazing FCSD school meal - the multi-purpose space serves as a rehearsal and performance space, a meeting area and an assembly room. The Fairport for the Future 2025 Capital Improvement Project proposes to update this space with modern lighting, flooring, wall finishes and air conditioning, while keeping the beloved character of Brooks Hill's gathering space. Reimagining Jefferson Avenue's cafetorium

From concerts, assemblies and plays to breakfast, lunch and EVERYTHING in between - an elementary school cafeteria is guaranteed to be one of the busiest parts of the building. Jefferson Avenue’s cafetorium serves as a home base for all of the building’s big events, but there’s a catch: in order to best serve our students’ needs, the space is in need of a lot of upgrades. The kitchen is one of the smallest Food Services spaces in the entire District. The team of employees supporting our students’ healthy eating habits works shoulder to shoulder in an antiquated setup with inefficient equipment. While the smiles, snacks and celebrations go on without a hitch now, our students and our staff need upgraded equipment and fixtures. Please note, all conceptual drawings are subject to change
