Fairport for the Future 2025 at Martha Brown and Johanna Perrin

Martha Brown and Johanna Perrin Middle Schools set the standards for 6-8 grade education in our community. The needs of these facilities have defined the scope of the project at these two schools. The proposed Fairport for the Future 2025 Capital Improvement Project includes complete renovations of the Family and Consumer Science classrooms, along with cafeteria modernization and upgrades to air conditioning and toilet rooms in both Martha Brown and Johanna Perrin.

Scope of proposed work at Martha Brown Middle School:

  • Family and Consumer Sciences classroom renovations including finishes, ceilings and lighting
  • Cafeteria air conditioning 
  • Select toilet room walls, finishes and fixtures
  • Tennis court resurfacing
  • Select sidewalk replacement and site lighting upgrades

Health and Safety and Building Condition Survey projects:

  • Fire alarm system upgrades
  • Upgrades and replacement of original HVAC equipment
  • Electrical panel replacement
  • Building controls upgrades
  • Public address (PA) and clock system upgrades
  • Ventilation and air management updates

The Fairport Central School District is proud to support our middle school learners as they dive deep into the curriculum of Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS). Students take their first run at life skills that will serve them throughout their school years and into adulthood. Units like financial literacy, job preparedness and resume writing get our students prepared to understand and join the workforce, while culinary, early childhood development and sewing give our students the skills to positively affect the world around them. The proposed Fairport for the Future 2025 Capital Improvement Project would fund complete renovations of the FACS classrooms in both Martha Brown and Johanna Perrin, including new equipment, storage, finishes and lighting.
