Guidelines for sound and lighting at FCSD athletic facilities developed
In November 2025, the District shared with the community a plan to install high-efficiency lighting around the Fairport High School multipurpose field. That plan, as an additional part of Proposition 1 of the 2023 voter-approved Capital Improvement Project, comes with no additional cost to the taxpayer.
The original scope of the 2023 Capital Improvement Project included the infrastructure to install lighting at the track and field complex at a future date. As a result of the favorable bidding and construction circumstances originally discussed with the multipurpose field lighting plan, the District is now in a position to purchase and install lighting at the track complex during the current construction process and using funding exclusively allocated to the track and field project.
On June 10, 2026, the Distrect presented guidelines for the use of FCSD light and sound equipment on FCSD property by both non-District groups and FCSD groups. Those guidelines are below and are also on the Athletics website. These guidelines were developed with input and feedback from community members who live in the area of Fairport High School, along with FCSD coaches and District administrators. You can find the recording of the June 10 event here on our Youtube channel.
The Fairport Central School District is proud to be part of this community and will continue to foster open communication with our neighbors throughout construction of the athletic complex and as the below guidelines are put in to place.
