Vision:
Together, the Minerva DeLand School community will build an environment where all learners are empowered to attain their potential.
Mission:
We are committed to creating a respectful, caring and safe learning environment where every student is supported in achieving his/her intellectual, academic, artistic, physical and social potential. We recognize the unique opportunity of our school, where, for the first time, we unify our freshman class. Students will discover their individual strengths, collaborate with each other and the community, celebrate diversity, and become productive citizens and life-long learners.
Facilities:
Minerva DeLand School opened in September 1959. The school now includes 25 classrooms, a new large group instruction room, a library media center, multiple art rooms, a music room, 3 instrumental music lessons rooms, gym area, newly renovated locker rooms, a pool, a learning center, three resource rooms, technology workroom, a newly renovated main office and reception area, health office, a guidance suite that houses counselors, school psychologist, and social worker offices, five departmental workrooms, faculty lounge, auditorium, cafeteria, a new wellness center and athletic fields.
New technology upgrades have modernized all of our classrooms with instructional workstations, projectors, and either whiteboards or Smartboards. We have also added eight mobile computer labs to enhance instruction in the classroom.
