Every two years, the Monroe County Department of Public Health conducts the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS). This is a national survey to assess health risk behaviors among high school students and monitor changes in these behaviors over time. The YRBS is designed and validated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in conjunction with state and local departments of education and other federal agencies.

These include the Health Education classes, Mental Health Services and Counseling, Brotherhood-Sisterhood Week, Safe Schools Against Violence in Education, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Initiative and Leadership Asset Training.
