The Fairport School District is committed to educating the whole child from academic instruction to fostering the healthy development of social and emotional skills. Our mental health staff consists of school counselors, school psychologists and school social workers.
All Fairport schools are served by either counselors, psychologists or social workers who share the same goal; supporting and caring for our students. They provide group and individual counseling for students, manage crises, work closely with teachers, and support families when they are in need.
FCSD is a member of the Monroe County System of Care, the Resiliency Learning Collaborative, and Monroe County's ongoing collaboration with Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg. Last year Dr. Ginsburg received a grant to develop and launch the Center for Parent and Teen Communication out of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The goal of this Center is to invest quality resources into empowering youth, their families/loved ones, and caring providers to support healthy adolescent development.
We wanted to share an exciting, new resource with you from our friends at the Center for Parent and Teen Communication. They are offering a travel guide of sorts, to help parents navigate the teen years! And, they offer materials for teens that will help them to be their very best selves. Be sure to like their Facebook page/follow them on twitter. You can find them at Center for Parent and Teen Communication’s Website, CPTC’s Facebook, and @parentandteen.
