Fairport Guest Wireless Network

Fairport Guest Wireless Network

The Fairport Guest wireless network is now available for staff, students and guests in all buildings for use with personal devices. This network is physically separated from our internal Fairport network and is protected by the Lightspeed Child-Safe web filter. The Fairport Guest network will be available in all indoor school areas, including classrooms.

To access this network:

  • Select the Fairport Guest wifi network on any device; phone, tablet, laptop etc.
    • You will be presented with a splash page that outlines our Terms of Service. See image below.
    • After reading the Terms of Service, you will click the "Continue to the Internet" button to accept the terms, and this will complete your connection to the guest Wifi.
    • Acceptance of the Terms of Service is good for 90 days per device. After 90 days, your device will be presented with the splash screen again, and you will simply need to follow the instructions above once more.
  • No need to have a technician get your device connected.
  • Classroom use is under complete discretion of each teacher.
  • Any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us at helpdesk@fairport.org.
  • If you are looking to use Airplay with your iOS device, this service will work over the Fairport Guest Network.

Guest Presenters

If you are a guest giving a presentation at FCSD, please note the following:

Most LGI, Conference, Cafeteria and Auditorium spaces utilize Screenbeam for wireless display connectivity. Instructions for Screenbeam should be located near the display of the room that you are in.

  • Connect your device to the “Fairport Guest” network to utilize an available Screenbeam
    • On a Windows device, press the “Windows” button + K at the same time to open the Wireless Display menu.
    • On an iOS/MacOS device, select “Screen Mirroring” from the Control Center
    • On a ChromeOS device, click on the clock in the lower right corner, and select “Cast”
  • Select the Screenbeam that is in the room you are presenting in. The name of the Screenbeam will be shown on the projector or display you are using, or on the Screenbeam instruction sheet nearby. For example, if you are in the Minerva DeLand LGI, look for “MD-LGI-SB”
  • Connect to the display, and enter the PIN number when prompted. The PIN will be located on the Screenbeam instruction sheet in the room, or you can ask a Main Office or Custodial staff member.
  • If for some reason you are unable to connect, there will also be an HDMI cable near the display or projector in the room. Simply plug your device in with the HDMI cable, and it will automatically start displaying your screen.
