The District Transportation Department estimates that 90% of grades 6-8 school bus riders will be picked up from their homes/neighborhood pickups between 8 a.m. and 8:25 a.m. If possible, regular school buses will disembark at school up to five minutes early (8:25) at arrival to alleviate breakfast lines.
School will dismiss at 3:25 p.m. and 90% of drop offs will occur between 3:35 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Any regular exceptions to this will be communicated in advance so supervision can be arranged.
Please note: the above pickup and drop off times are estimates only. As it is with all school years, the actual transportation times may shift slightly as our families and Transportation Department develop a routine.
Buildings will open to students at 7:30 a.m..Breakfast will be available starting at 7:45 a.m..
Early morning runs for clubs and/or academic assistance will pick students up at group stops (determined by Transportation). Students on the early morning runs will arrive at school between 7:30 and 7:40 a.m..
Late bus runs for clubs and/or academic assistance will drop students off at group stops (determined by Transportation). Late buses will depart from Martha Brown and Johanna Perrin on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30 p.m.
Extracurricular Activities and Athletics
There will be opportunities for clubs to meet after school or before school at the administrators’ and advisors’ discretion and to maximize participation by interested students. Decisions about what clubs will operate will continue to be dictated by student interest and staff availability.
Grades 6-8 afternoon clubs will run Tuesday and Thursday at Martha Brown AND Johanna Perrin.
The “early activity period” for clubs, academic help, practices etc. will run informally from 7:45 a.m. (after students are dropped off by early morning bus runs or parent drop-off) until 8:25 a.m.
A sports study hall will be held at Martha Brown and Johanna Perrin after dismissal to bridge the time between the end of the instructional day and the beginning of practices/competitions.There will be a sports shuttle bus available at each school at around 3:40 p.m. for transportation to Minerva DeLand facility or FHS facility.
Sports study halls will be at all secondary schools for students who are arriving from other buildings.
