Time Change Grades 9-12

Transportation

BUILDING SCHOOL DAY START TIME SCHOOL DAY END TIME BUSES DEPART FROM SCHOOL
Fairport High School 8:40 a.m. 3:25 p.m. 3:35 p.m.
    • The District Transportation Department estimates that 90% of grades 9-12 school bus riders will be picked up from their homes/neighborhood pickups between 8 a.m. and 8:25 a.m. If possible, regular school buses will disembark at school up to five minutes early (8:25) at arrival to alleviate breakfast lines.
    • School will dismiss at 3:25 p.m. and 90% of drop offs will occur between 3:35 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Any regular exceptions to this will be communicated in advance so supervision can be arranged.
    • Please note: the above pickup and drop off times are estimates only. As it is with all school years, the actual transportation times may shift slightly as our families and Transportation Department develop a routine.
    • The building will open to students at 7:30 a.m.
    • Early morning runs for clubs and/or academic assistance will pick students up at group stops (determined by Transportation). Students on the early morning runs will arrive at school between 7:30 and 7:40 a.m..

BOCES Programming and Transportation

    • All the students in morning programs that start before the FHS school day will have to request transportation. To be sure the busing to these programs is as efficient as possible it is very important that families only request transportation if the student will actually use it.
    • Multi-Occ/FOCUS students (7:45 programs) who request transportation will be picked up from home, brought to a transfer location and then get on a shuttle to their programs.
    • EMCC Campus students (8:10/8:20 programs) who request transportation will be picked up from home and transported, or students (12th grade) with driving privileges can be picked up from FHS and shuttled to their programs.
    • All other programs during the regular school day will be handled with shuttles as is done currently.

Extracurricular Activities and Athletics

    • There will be opportunities for clubs to meet after school or before school at the administrators’ and advisors’ discretion and to maximize participation by interested students. Decisions about what clubs will operate will continue to be dictated by student interest and staff availability. Rules regarding clubs will remain the same at the beginning of the school year and we will work collaboratively with staff to monitor and adjust those rules as needed.
    • Late buses will depart Fairport High School at or around 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. There will be four daily late buses. Late bus runs will drop students off at group stops (determined by Transportation).
    • A sports study hall will be held at FHS after dismissal to bridge the time between the end of the instructional day and the beginning of practices/competitions.
    • There will be a sports shuttle bus available around 3:45 p.m. for transportation to Minerva DeLand or Johanna Perrin and Martha Brown for practices. As with every school year, there may be times that students will be dismissed early to attend out-of-District practices or competitions.
