Future-Ready NASA HUNCH students present at RIT
On Friday, February 2, four teams of Fairport’s NASA HUNCH students presented their work for review by NASA mentors and RIT personnel. This was the first time RIT has partnered with Fairport’s HUNCH group. Fairport joined teams from The Harley School and the Buffalo and Toronto areas.
The prototypes of these projects will be evaluated for selection for the Final Design Review to be held in Houston, TX in April 2024. If chosen, up to three students from each team may travel to Houston to present their final design to NASA engineers and astronauts. The ultimate goal of each project is to be incorporated into a working solution for NASA to use in upcoming lunar and Mars expeditions.
The projects by Fairport students are: a multi-tool badge holder, a Lunar Bamboo Greenhouse, a Robotic Duster Mobility Arm and a Robotic Duster Propulsion system.
