YMCA and FCSD to expand partnership for wrap care in 2026-2027

The Fairport Central School District is pleased to announce an expansion of the partnership between the YMCA of Greater Rochester and the District to provide before- and after-school wrap care for Fairport families. The 2026-2027 school year will be the first year of the adjusted school day schedule, and our partners at the YMCA have committed to adjusting wrap care program times and capacity to serve more Fairport families during this transition.
2026-2027 “shifted” school day schedule for students K-12:
Dudley – 7:45 a.m. to 2:05 p.m.
Northside – 7:45 a.m. to 2:05 p.m.
Brooks Hill – 7:45 a.m. to 2:05 p.m.
Jefferson Avenue – 8:25 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Johanna Perrin – 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Martha Brown – 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Fairport High School (grades 9-12) – 9:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
The District and the YMCA have had a long and successful collaboration providing care to our Fairport students after the school day right here in our facilities. The YMCA is an incredibly important part of our community and a touchstone for many of our community members. The YMCA has extensive resources and scholarship aid to support our families.
The District has explored options for our K-6 families that may be interested in childcare in the coming years.
“The District sought out multiple different options for affordable childcare for our K-6 families. An expanded partnership with the YMCA is the most cost-effective programming available in addition to the value added by the Y’s network of resources,” said Superintendent Brett Provenzano. “The District is excited to begin this new chapter of cooperation and care between our organizations.”
“The journey to a brighter future goes beyond the bell and we are proud to continue to serve our Fairport families,” said Terrence McElduff, Vice President, Youth Enrichment, YMCA of Greater Rochester. “At the heart of our YMCA community is a commitment to provide a safe place where students can explore their interests, develop new skills, and build meaningful relationships, and we look forward to continuing that tradition with our partners at the Fairport Central School District.”
Over the next months and into 2026, we will share more information on the wrap care programming beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, including details on scheduling, rates and programming. Please click here to learn more about the Y’s current before and after school care programming.
