Welcoming Jaclyn Sauter to the Fairport Central School District team

At its April 18, 2023 Business meeting, the Fairport Board of Education approved Jaclyn Sauter to serve as the District’s next Director of Humanities.Throughout the interview process, Ms. Sauter demonstrated a passion for curriculum and instruction especially in the areas of literacy, English Language Arts and social studies.

Ms. Sauter has a variety of K-12 experience as a teacher and a leader throughout her career. She was a kindergarten teacher as well as the extended school year program coordinator. Most recently, Ms. Sauter served as the Humanities Teacher on Special Assignment at the Penfield Central School District, where she led a variety of curriculum projects. Throughout the curriculum work she led, Ms. Sauter supported teams in designing engaging, rigorous and thought-provoking curriculum focused on culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for all students.

After a multi-step interview process that included a variety of stakeholders, Ms. Sauter emerged as the successful candidate. It was clear that she is highly organized, and values open and transparent communication and collaboration in order to build positive relationships.

Thank you to those staff members who participated on our hiring committee and to the many stakeholders that participated in the finalist forum. The feedback we received throughout the process was crucial and informed the decision-making.

Ms. Sauter is scheduled to begin her new role on July 1, 2023. She is excited to expand her skill set to serve a district-wide population. Please join us in welcoming and congratulating Jaclyn Sauter!
