Your child’s wellness is one of our top priorities as we begin the 2023-2024 school year. The New York State Department of Education recently released a statement saying it does not anticipate issuing new guidance for COVID-19 prevention in schools, and is referring families back to the most recent CDC releases.
Please review the below information regarding the Fairport Central School District’s 2023-2024 COVID-19 policies and guidance, which follow the CDC’s latest guidelines, issued in the spring of 2023.
The NYS Department of Health released information in early August regarding rising infection and hospitalization rates, and the courses of treatment available for those who test positive. If your child tests positive for COVID-19, please contact your child’s pediatrician regarding treatment options.
As always, thank you for your cooperation as we continue to prioritize student and staff wellness in our Fairport schools.
Please see below for guidance and messages released in previous school years.
The Fairport CSD continues to monitor the CDC guidance, along with the NYSED, NYSDOH, Monroe County DOH and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidance, as the COVID-19 environment evolves into the next phase of the pandemic. Thank you for your continued patience, understanding and cooperation.
