Message from the Superintendent – Learn more about the 2023-2024 budget process on Feb. 1
Dear Fairport families,
It’s hard to believe we are almost through the month of January and at the midpoint of our year – we’re proud of talented students and grateful for our dedicated staff as memories are made during this school year!
Budget Development and MD/FHS Merger
There are several upcoming opportunities for you and your families to learn more about the next steps in both the merger of Minerva DeLand AND the development of the 2023-2024 school budget.
- There is a Community Budget Forum on Wednesday, February 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Fairport High School cafeteria. This is an opportunity for community members to ask questions and provide feedback in the development of the District’s 2023-2024 budget. The forum will be streamed on our Youtube page for those who cannot attend.
- If you would like to share your thoughts and questions about the budget process and the District’s priorities, please use this ThoughExchange that is open to the public.
- The Board of Education will discuss the non-instructional budget AND the merger of Minerva DeLand at the February 6 Board Workshop, also held in the Fairport High School cafeteria. The workshop begins at 5 p.m. As a reminder, BOE workshops are open to the public, but there is no public comment.
- District administrators will present a draft of the 2023-2024 non-instructional budget at the Board of Education Business meeting on February 14. Additionally, at this meeting the BOE is anticipating to confirm the timeline and corresponding process for the merger of MD and FHS. The meeting begins at 6:30 in the Fairport High School cafeteria. It will also be streamed live.
