Community members invited to 2023-2024 Budget Forum on February 1, contribute to ThoughtExchange
Join the Fairport Board of Education and District administrators on Wednesday, February 1 in the Fairport High School cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. for a Community Forum on the 2023-2024 School Budget! This is an opportunity for residents to ask questions and provide feedback in the development of the District’s 2023-2024 budget.
The District’s 2023-2024 budget goals are as follows:
Prioritize equitable access to:
- Student-centered and whole child educational programming
- Modern and safe facilities
- Sustainable operations
Keep long-term fiscal sustainability at the forefront of our budget process with a focus on:
- Maintaining a strong financial position
- Preserving the District’s strong bond rating
- Managing District reserves relative to potential future General Fund costs associated with the expiration of Federal Stimulus dollars
The Community Forum will be livestreamed on our FCSD YouTube page. Members of the FCSD staff are invited to a staff-only Forum earlier in the day.
Please also submit your thoughts and questions about the budget development process in this ThoughtExchange.
The Board of Education will discuss the non-instructional budget at the February 6 Board Workshop, also held in the Fairport High School cafeteria. The workshop begins at 5 p.m. As a reminder, BOE workshops are open to the public, but there is no public comment.
The Annual Budget Vote and Board Election for the Fairport Central School District is May 16, 2023 at Johanna Perrin Middle School. Polls are open there from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
