“The State of Our Students” family education sessions begin on November 13
Parents and families! You are invited to join us for the first of a new series of parent education sessions through the FCSD. “The State of Our Students” sessions are an invitation and opportunity for our Fairport families to engage with staff and experts about the issues affecting all of our students.
Please join us on November 13 from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. at Minerva DeLand School for The State of Our Students: Prevention and Intervention of At-Risk Behaviors.
Our presenters will discuss:
- Fairport’s results in the county-wide Youth Risk Behavior Survey and what we have learned about how our students think and feel about risky behaviors with Liz Russell, LMSW, Fairport’s Substance Abuse Prevention Social Worker
- What are the top trends right now in adolescent substance use and abuse, by Sgt. Phil Genier of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office
- What treatment and resources are available to families, outlined by Leah Hill, CASAC, from URMC Adolescent Young Adult Chemical Dependency
We welcome families to be active participants in their students’ wellbeing, safety and health. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to join us to learn more about The State of Our Students and how we can help make our Fairport families safer and stronger together.
