It is that time of year once again: the District is in the process of developing the 2024-2025 school year budget! In October of 2023, the Board confirmed its 2024-2025 FCSD Budget Goals:

• Prioritize the District’s School Improvement initiatives including:
  • Developing Universal Pre-K programming
  • Allocating resources to support and maximize student learning (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support)
  • Providing equitable access to student-centered and “whole child” programming
• Keep long-term fiscal sustainability at the forefront of the budget process with a focus on:
  • Transparency and our fiscal responsibility to our stakeholders
  • Maintaining a strong financial position
  • Preserving the District’s strong bond rating
• Investing in modern, environmentally sustainable and safe facilities by:
  • Dedicating financial resources to support the modernization and upkeep of District facilities
  • Prioritizing funding of District Capital Reserves to prepare for Phase III of the District’s Long-Term Facilities Plan, and in order to shift to a more regular schedule of smaller-scale Capital Improvement Projects 

With these goals in mind, please be aware of two important initial opportunities to share your thoughts on the development of the 2024-2025 budget:

• Share your thoughts on important considerations for the upcoming year in this ThoughtExchange (closes January 25). It captures all voices so the Board and District can understand our staff and community members’ expectations and priorities.
• Join us for the Community Budget Meeting, held on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at Fairport High School in Room 512. This will also be broadcast on our Fairport Youtube channel.
